QUEStIONS

Frequently Asked

  • Do you accept insurance?
We do accept some insurances as an in-network provider. Some of the ones we do accept include: BCBS, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna and UMR. We do not accept Blue Value or Blue Local. If we do not accept your insurance, you may still have out-of-network benefits. You will need to call your insurance company and ask. We will provide you with a receipt to give your insurance company for any potential reimbursement.
  • Do you offer bilingual services?
No, we currently do not offer any bilingual therapy services.
  • What do I need to do before my first appointment?
If you are using insurance, please call your insurance company and verify your benefits. Ask if you have a deductible that applies and if you have a copay. Payment is due at the time services are rendered. Our Paperwork Packet will be emailed to you. We ask that you complete this entire Packet prior to your first appointment. We cannot conduct the first session without your paperwork completed and signed. Please arrive on time for your appointment. We do our very best to start and end on time. However, we ask you to remember that we are often working with people in distress and that may cause a delay on occasion. We greatly appreciate your patience if this occurs.
  • I’m 19 but still live with my parents. Do they have to be there too?
No. If you are 18 or older, you will need to sign all of your own paperwork and can decide who, if anyone, you’d like to participate in therapy with you. Some young adults do choose to have their parents involved and some do not. Either way is fine.
  • I am running late for my appointment. What should I do?
If you are more than 15 minutes late, we will ask you to reschedule. We won’t have enough time to facilitate a quality session with you and cannot run over into the next appointment slot. We ask that you call and let us know if you’re running late, as a courtesy.
  • What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We request that you give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You will be charged your full session fee for not doing so.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We also require a credit card to be kept on file.
  • Can you prescribe medication?
No, we cannot prescribe any medication. We are happy to collaborate with your primary care physician or a psychiatrist and can provide recommendations to local providers if needed.
  • Do you write letters for court purposes?
No, we do not get involved in court-related matters. Should you subpoena us, you will be responsible for court fees.
